At Escondido Orgiva, we are dedicated to providing a memorable and relaxing holiday experience. Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Alpujarras and create unforgettable memories. The south facing land is planted with a variety of trees 150 of which are olives producing wonderful organic extra virgin olive oil, but we also have oranges, lemons, avocados, bananas, almonds, pomegranates and figs. We like to share this bounty from our little paradise, so you may well find home grown seasonal treats in your welcome pack.
The lively town of Orgiva is just 2km away, a few minutes away by car where there are banks, shops, bars & restaurants, doctors, dentists & pharmacies. There is also a weekly market and fuel including EV charging points. The town has an interesting history with evidence of a settlement in Greek & Roman times. The Local Spanish and quirky mix of foreign residents all enjoy traditional fiestas throughout the year with live music and dancing.
Malaga (1.5hrs), Granada (1hr) & Almeria (1.5hrs) are our local airports where you can pick up car hire.
Our life has been full of exciting travels, both for work and holidays and we have 3 sons with families of their own now.
As retirement approached we agreed one is never too old for a new adventure which is how come you find us here in The Alpujarras, trying our hand at running a small olive farm and holiday let business.
We will respect your privacy. And we trust you will do the same, but we do also enjoy a chat if you should choose to join us under a shady tree to pass the time of day.
House Rules
Just so we all know where we stand, inevitably there has to be a few reasonable house rules and we hope you will understand it is for your protection as well as ours.
The importance of being environmentally conscious cannot be overstated, so we encourage our guests to help us in our quest to be eco-friendly. 300 long, sunny days each year help us to reduce our carbon footprint because we have solar panels as our renewable energy source, backed up by grid electricity for our few cloudy days. Our fertile land is irrigated by ancient acequia channels part of a vast 3000km network built between the 8th and 10th centuries by the Moors. Water is very precious, so we are very careful not to waste it in the home and we would ask you to do the same.
Don't miss out on the opportunity to unwind in the serenity of Escondido Orgiva. Book your stay now €80-€100 per night, then embark on a journey of relaxation and rejuvenation.
